Network Issues : Solutions
Network Issues : Solutions
In the last post, I have shared about the causes of network issues. So today, I will share about network issues solution. I hope this will help you solve these issues.
1. Computer Viruses
Step 1: To determine how serious the infection is, you can run a full network Scan to detect infected files or programs. Ensure that your antivirus and antimalware programs are up to date, which will allow you to check for Hidden files, the root folder, or all running programs. In addition, try to have your antivirus or antimalware software scan your email inbox for any malicious content.
Step 2: Use the tools you need to back up all your system files. In order to guarantee that data and network stability are preserved, it is necessary to perform a full system backup. You can set up a system restore that could be used in an emergency by using the Windows' System Restore option.
Step 3: Clean all suspicious and unusual files. They are not likely to be exchanged with other files or a network system if you isolate them. In this case, all quarantine files shall be disinfected or completely destroyed. You can manually delete all the messages detected by your antivirus software.
2. Unable To Connect To The Internet
Step 1: Try putting your computer or device right next to a router if it doesn't connect to the Internet. If this causes a connection to your equipment, it might have been the system hardware. Proceed to step 2 if this is not resolving the problem.
Step 2: You need to update your network card. Sometimes, your network card will receive a strong signal, but won’t be able to transmit it quickly and effectively resulting in the need for network troubleshooting. Updating the driver might solve the problem entirely, but if it doesn’t, you might need to contact your IT department or provider and consider replacing the hardware altogether.
3. Duplicated IP Address
Step 1: Click the Start'' button and click the Run'' button. Enter “cmd” into the text box and click “OK”. The Windows command prompt will open.
Step 2: Type “ipconfig/renew” into the command prompt and press “Enter”. This is to refresh your dynamic IP address.
Step 3: Check to see if you have a network connection. An available IP address that is not already used will be received on your computer.
4. IP Address Exhaustion
Step 1: Check the network interface card (NIC). You can find this by opening the control panel, then the device manager. Then, select “Hardware and Sound” and then select “Device Manager”. Expand the Network Adapters item to view all network adapters, although you will most likely only have one. Verify that your system is configured to utilize DHCP.
Step 2: See which virtual LANVLAN port is set as a member by checking the switch. Determine whether the IP address can be obtained by another device on this specific VLAN. If it doesn't work, the server is unable to receive DHCP requests from your network.
If more than one device is involved in this problem, the server itself appears to be at fault.
5. Slow Performance
Step 1: Restart your computer. There are times when any or all of your problems can be solved immediately by a fast reset. The system memory RAM will be cleared by doing this. If this works, remember to shut down your PC when it’s not in use. Proceed to stage 2 if it does not help.
Step 2: Now, it’s time to check on your hard drive and make sure that it’s not approaching the end of its lifespan. So, let's check the hard drive:
Right click on “Drive”. Then, click “Properties” and then click “Tools”. Click “Check Now”. Select “Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors”. Doing this will stop your computer from tapping into any malfunctioning areas of the hard drive.
Step 3: From programs that have gone unused, get rid of unnecessary files. It may be necessary not to hang on too many versions of this software than you need, because system backup and restore points can use up a lot of space. In order to save the disk, you may also want to transfer data into a cloud service.
Step 4: If you’ve completely deep-cleaned your computer and checked all of the possible issues above, but your computer is still running slowly, it might be time to upgrade your RAM so that your computer has more memory.
Some programs will take more RAM to do their jobs than others and if your computer does not have sufficient RAM, it won't be able to deal with them. Make sure to check with the RAM upgrade options.
6. VPN Errors
Step 1: Check to see if the client and server are connected. To check that the network problem is a general issue or affects just one client, you may try connecting to your server from another client device.
Step 2: Verify that the server name specified by the VPN administrator is identical to those entered on the client side. You can specify an IP address instead of a name in certain cases, while it is more typical for users to mistype their addresses than names. In some cases IP addresses can also be changed by the VPN servers, particularly if you are planning to use an DHCP network.
Step 3: If you have not been able to resolve this issue in the first two steps, it is time to ensure that your firewall does not block a VPN connection. If you want to retry your connection, disable it for a period of time.
If this solution does not solve the problem, you will need to update your firewall settings for each port number that a VPN server is running in order to prevent it from happening again.
7. Connection Errors and Network Connectivity
Step 1: Restart your computer. Sometimes a quick reboot could be the key to saving lives. Please follow up steps 2 if you have already run this or rebooted the computer and did not fix anything.
Step 2: Restart your router or modem. DO NOT reset the router or modem or restore its settings back to factory default. Simply turn the router or modem off and back on. If this doesn’t work or only works for a moment, keep going to Step 3.
Step 3: If you are connected to your network via Ethernet cable, unplug the cable and then reattach it. If needed, replace your network cable with a new or different cable to see if this was the cause of the issue.
Step 4: If you’re connected via Wi-Fi when you see this error, it’s a possibility that the network adapter is attempting to conserve power. Stop this by finding the Network and Sharing Center in the Control Panel. Right click “Wi-Fi Connection”, select “Properties”, click “Configure” and find the “Power Management” tab. Click and uncheck the option that allows your computer to turn off device to conserve power.
Step 5: If you’ve tried all of this and there’s still no connection, unplug your router and connect your computer directly to your modem. If this solves the issue, then your router is likely to be malfunctioning. If not, contact the router manufacturer for support.
