5 Possible Reasons Why Your Laptop Can't Be Turned On
Why Your Laptop Can't Be Turn On?
Pressing the power button on your Windows laptop or desktop computer turns on the screen and keyboard backlight. But you may not be able to turn on your laptop if the power button is faulty, overheats or a loose battery connection. If you do not turn on your laptop at charge or when it is charged, the following troubleshooting procedures should be able to fix this problem.
1. The power cord is not properly connected
Make sure that the power cord is plugged into the laptop and into an outlet that is working.
Sometimes we didn't notice that our plug is no longer working well. As you know, the plug has a specific power limit. In addition, it could cause a short circuit if we use more watts than the limit.
2. The battery is dead
If your laptop is not plugged in, the battery may be dead. Thus, you can connect a power cord and check if the laptop is turned on. If it does, you may need to replace the battery.
3. The power button is not working
To check if it's on, try to press the power button a few times. The power button might be damaged if this is not the case.
4. The motherboard is damaged
The motherboard is the main circuit board of the laptop. If it is damaged, the laptop may not turn on.
A system that is completely dead is the usual sign of a failed motherboard. If your motherboard is dead, fans, drives or any other devices may spin off, but in most cases nothing happens when you turn on the power. Nothing beeping, no lights, no fans, nothing.
5. A software problem
There may be a software problem that is preventing the laptop from turning on. Try restarting the laptop or resetting the BIOS. You also can reformat the laptop, but all the data inside will be deleted.
